Notre Dame Summer Program Recognition 2023

Notre Dame students had a busy 2023 summer. Just because school was out, didn’t mean the learning and networking stopped! Many students attended state and national summer programs, mission trips and more.

John Paul Alipala and Samuel Canter attended the Greater St. Louis Area Boy Scouts Council 2023 National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) at Camp Sakima.

Addison Beussink, Susan Boyd and Charlotte Oliver participated in Missouri Girls State.

Junior Matthew Austin took an Anatomy & Physiology course through the John Hopkins University Pre-College Program.

Evan DeJournett, Jack Evans, Jack Gardner and Luke Richey attended Missouri Boys State. DeJournett also participated in the NRECA Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.

Peter Dittmer attended the Missouri Scholars Academy, while Lawson Mills participated in the Missouri Rotary Youth Leadership Academy.

Nicholas Dial participated in a summer workshop at St. Louis University School of Medicine for medical and surgical procedures.

Heidi Jimerson attended the 2023 HealthCare Professionals Camp sponsored by the Southeast Missouri Hospital College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Senior Suna Mungee attended the National Congress of Future Medical Leaders conference for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists in Lowell, MA. While in attendance, Mungee received the Award of Excellence. She also participated in the Ambassador Leadership Program of the National Society of High School Scholars, and was awarded as a student ambassador.

Senior Gabriel Raines attended the Rotary Camp Enterprise, while Charlotte Spence participated in the Kode With Klossy Computer Coding Camp.

Lindsey Ringstaff took part in the Trulaske Business Academy at the University of Missouri, and Teresa Taylor attended the Benedictine College Youth Conference Immersion Program in Nursing.

Emma Duenne, Mya French, Nicholas Gaeta, Samuel Gaeta and Sami Hussein attended the MoDOT / Cape Girardeau Police Department TRACTION Conference. TRACTION stands for teens taking action to prevent traffic crashes.

Forty-seven current students and class of 2023 graduates, along with 10 faculty, attended the 2023 Joan Strohmeyer Notre Dame Mission Trip in Tuba City, AZ. Students included the following: Meredith Ash, Bridget Bailey, Corbin Baird, Roddy Baz, Hannah Bledsoe, Laynie Brown, Addison Clippard, Will Dodson, Tryston Duby, Michael Eftink, Jackson Gaeta, Anna Garner, Kolby Grimes, Karoline Harold, Caleb Heisserer, Colleen Jimerson, Heidi Jimerson, Kathleen Johnson, Karly Kasten, Sylvia Kester, Taylor Kutz, Molly LeGrand, Aden Marshall, Lyla Martin, Wil Morgan, Mason Morris, Kaelyn Nelson, Julianne Oliver, Isabella Palmer, Mena Pavone, Sophie Priggel, Andrew Rubi, Silvia Schallberger, Ryan Schoolman, Emma Schwendemann, Isabelle Seyer, Ella Shaffar, Mya Shaffar, Abby Spooler, Reagyn Strickland, Lydia Strohmeyer, Katy Turner, Madison Walker and Eli Youngblood.
