Dohognes to Receive 2025 Bob Miller Award

Notre Dame Athletic Director Jeff Graviett says that the Dohogne name is a staple at Notre Dame when it comes to athletics. That is why Danny and Anne Dohogne are being honored with the 2025 Notre Dame Booster Club Bob Miller Award.

This award, named after Bob Miller, a 1952 graduate and founding member of the Notre Dame Booster Club, recognizes the continuous and meritorious service that upholds the name and tradition of the Notre Dame athletic program and Notre Dame Regional High School.

Supporting ND Athletics
The Dohogne’s support of Notre Dame athletics began with Danny joining the Notre Dame Booster Club many years ago. Both have volunteered their time on the basketball coaching staff over the years. Danny was an assistant varsity boys basketball coach. Anne was the JV girls coach and assistant varsity girls coach for several seasons, including the 2002 girls state championship team that was recently inducted into the Notre Dame Athletic Hall of Fame.

They have volunteered for concessions and gate while their kids played sports, as well as being involved in Activity Week. The Dohognes are also part of the Bulldog March Madness event committee, helping plan, set up, clean up and volunteer during the event.

The couple have been famously serving up their spiral potatoes at ND Sportsfest for the past 10 years, and both of their companies, Arnold Insurance and Edge Realty, are sponsors on our scoreboards.

“Danny and Anne have brought so much to the Booster Club during their time here as parents,” said Graviett. “They have been a big part of our Sportsfest in the Fall, manning the ever-popular ribbon fries. They both have vital roles in our Bulldog March Madness event, and both have ads on our new digital boards helping to support that venture. They have helped set the bar in what it means to be a parent of a Notre Dame Bulldog athlete. I personally can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for me and for Notre Dame athletics.”

About the Dohognes
Danny Dohogne is a 1987 Notre Dame graduate and helped lead the boys basketball team to state titles in 1986 and 1987, and was a member of three state qualifying baseball teams. An all-state forward in basketball, he holds a host of school records, and was inducted into the Notre Dame Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001. Danny went on to have a stellar two-year basketball career at Southeast Missouri State University.

It was at SEMO that Danny and Anne, who is from Memphis, Tennessee, met. As SEMO basketball standouts, they crossed paths while on their way to practice at the Show-Me Center.

“It all started with God’s guidance from Memphis to SEMO – with a smile and hello in the hallway of the Show Me Center,” reminisced Anne.

Anne says their shared love of sports is what brought them together, and as they were dating Danny began to bring Anne to Notre Dame athletic events.

“Danny brought me to a Notre Dame Alumni Basketball Tournament, and I was hooked,” she said. “Seeing how bonded all these former players still were after years of graduating was so fun to watch.”

Anne says that experience solidified to her what Danny already knew – they wanted their kids to be part of the Notre Dame family.

While at Notre Dame, their three kids, Dawson (’18), Delaney (’21) and Brett (’25), were standout student athletes, setting athletic records and winning many academic awards, earning district, conference and state recognition in basketball, volleyball, baseball and track and field. More important than the accolades, says Danny and Anne, is that they feel their kids’ coaches and peers would say they are good, positive teammates.
Danny and Anne’s goals for all three of their children was to develop a personal relationship with God, and learn life lessons through sports.

“With the support of Notre Dame, our kids have fulfilled those two important goals,” says Anne.

They say the best award they’ve received is when people tell them they enjoy watching their kids play. Sports is their family bond, and they “thank God every day for the awesome moments and memories sports at Notre Dame has given their whole family.”

Anne says that the bible verse “Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” has carried their family through, and guided them to trust in God.

The Dohognes expressed their thanks to Notre Dame for “guiding our children toward our goals for them, and working with us to reach God’s plans for our kids.”

The couple will receive their award at the Queen of Victory Evening of Excellence event on August 8, 2025.
