September Student of the Month

This year, Notre Dame’s Student of the Month program is shining a spotlight on Apostolic Leadership—recognizing students who live out service, charity, piety, faithfulness, leadership and humility in their daily lives. We are proud to celebrate these students for the many ways they bring our mission to life through their actions!

A student asked Matthew Miget for help on a math assignment. Matthew was patient and kind to her, and had her work the problem out and watched step by step to see what she was doing to help her figure out her mistake.

Evan Griesemer is incredibly prayerful in Mass and takes care to be kind to others and be faithful to God. He reads theological literature to further understand God outside of school assignments.

Barrett Gunn (not pictured) was nominated twice this month. First, for going out of his way to do a favor for another student. Secondly, he was nominated by a teacher for starting a conversation amongst classmates about honoring the American flag by putting it at half-mast.

Messiah Holmes was nominated for being polite and helpful towards others. He is heard in the hallways consistently asking his peers and teachers how their days are going. He is also seen picking up fallen signs or papers in the hallway.

After Midweek Motivation, Braxtyn Sides volunteered himself to take the song books and put them away without being asked.

Usually at the end of a cross country race volunteers are passing out water, but at this particular meet there weren’t any volunteers. As soon as Braydon Kielhofner finished running his race, he started handing out water to runners crossing the finish line. He would tell each runner they did a good job, and he stayed until the last person finished the race.

After a soccer game, one of the opposing players was on the field cramping. Andy Pederson stayed to help the player stretch so he could go with the rest of his team off the field. Andy showed great sportsmanship, especially after losing a tough game.

Duncan Mills (not pictured) stayed after a Friday night soccer game and picked up trash after everyone else left the field.

A special thank you to The Bank of Missouri for sponsoring our Student of the Month program.
