Notre Dame’s Student of the Month program is shining a spotlight on Apostolic Leadership—recognizing students who live out service, charity, piety, faithfulness, leadership and humility in their daily lives. We are proud to celebrate these students for the many ways they bring our mission to life through their actions!
David Bautista-Merino can often be seen standing for long periods after school holding the door for others. He seems to really enjoy serving and helping people.
TJ Bolen was nominated three times this month. He went above and beyond to help during frozen food delivery day, showed empathy to a struggling student during 8th Grade Day, and stepped up last minute to give a campus tour, spending over an hour with a prospective family.
Lucia Dittmer invited a freshman to join her friend group at lunch. They talked and laughed during lunch, and were still hanging out after school. Lucia helped the student make new friends and feel at home.
Emily Huff was nominated for her willingness to help others with homework and studying. In Pre-Calculus, she takes to explain problems step by step and shows patience when others don’t understand. She also helps her fellow classmates with Spanish.
Sara Hulshof demonstrates her love for her faith daily. She prays audibly, sings joyfully at Mass, and treats everyone with kindness. Her positivity and dedication to living out the Gospel shine through in everything she does.
A fan from the opposing team took time to message Notre Dame’s Facebook page to recognize Elijah Panton’s sportsmanship during the JV soccer game versus Cape Central. He was praised for helping an opposing player up after a hard fall.
Luke Seabaugh (not pictured) was nominated twice; once for helping a fellow student pick up their books, and again for helping a stranger whose car was stuck in the mud. He and his classmates spent over 30 minutes pushing the vehicle free.
Nicholas Thompson won Biology quiz passes during Activity Week. The passes were nontransferable, but he went to the teacher and asked if there could be an exception to the rule to give the passes to a classmate who was going through a very difficult time.
A special thank you to The Bank of Missouri for sponsoring our Student of the Month program.
