Ryan Willen inducted to ND Hall of Fame

Bulldogs celebrated our alumni with the presentation of the 2018 Hall of Fame class – Ty Williams, Ryan Willen (represented by his grandfather), and the State Champion Baseball team of 1993.

Ryan Willen is a 2008 graduate of ND. He lettered in basketball and soccer.  Ryan finished his ND basketball career with 1,628 total career points (2nd all-time).  He holds the school record for the most point in a season making 695 points during the 2006-07 season.  In 2008, he led the basketball team to a State Championship and the Christmas Tournament Championship.  He was named to the All-Tournament team three times, Southeast Missouri Player of the Year two times, and First Team All-State two times.

On the soccer field he was part of the back to back state championship teams in 2006 and 2007. He scored two goals in the 2007 state championship game.  In 2007 he was First Team All-State.  He was the Senior Bulldog Award Winner.

Ryan continued playing basketball on the college level at Lafayette College where he was a four-year starter and was named Student Athlete of the Year. He finished his college career with 1,453 points (8th all-time) and 575 rebounds (14th all-time).  He played one year of professional ball in Denmark, scoring 40 points his first game.

Ryan graduated from medical school at ATSU in 2017.  He is currently a resident physician in general surgery in his intern year.  He is engaged to Samantha Kordeil.
