Valedictorian

Class of 2019 Valedictorian, Yanlin (Linda) Hu, is the daughter of Qiang Hu and Jun You. Kyle and Emily Schott of Cape Girardeau have hosted Linda.

While at ND, Linda was active in National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, Women in God’s Service (WINGS), Science Club, and Franciscan Leadership Club. She competed as part of the Scholar Bowl Team and Tennis Team. Linda has received Academic Awards in Honors Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, French I and II, Advanced English II, Chemistry, and Online Technology.

Linda has earned the McGill Freshman Scholarship Award and plans to attend McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She plans to major in Science (Mathematics).

Salutatorian

Class of 2019 Salutatorian, James (Jamie) Barnes, is the son of Michael and Jennifer Barnes of Sikeston. James is a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.

While at ND, James was active in National Honor Society, Franciscan Leadership Club, Peer Helpers, Athletes Give Back, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) where he served as Secretary. Jamie competed with the Freshman and JV Baseball Teams and JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams. Jamie has received Academic Awards in Algebra I, English I, Economics, and Biology. He attended the American Legion Boys State.

Jamie has earned a Bright Flight Scholarship and will attend University of Missouri at Kansas City entering into the six-year medical school.
