Activity Week 2019

Activity Week 2019 - Friday, September 20 to Saturday, September 28. 

Class Dinners:

  • Monday, September 23 - Senior Class - Pork Steak
  • Tuesday, September 24 - Freshman Class - Fried Fish
  • Wednesday, September 25 - Junior Class - Fried Chicken
  • Thursday, September 26 - Sophomore Class - Kettle Beef

All meals include sides.  Dinners are served from 5:00 until 7:00pm. There will be a car wash and silent auction during each meal. Dinner prices are the same for all classes: Adults $9 , Children (5-11 years) $4, 4 years and under FREE. Takeout is available, adult dinners only - $9.

Welcome Class of 2023

The first few days of the 2019-20 school year have been awesome! Faculty and Staff greeted our newest Bulldogs. Seniors helped the Freshman with books and lockers.  Freshman Retreat and their first Liturgy took place on Wednesday. Thank you Seniors for welcoming the Freshman during Orientation.

New Interim Principal

It is with much joy and pride that Notre Dame Regional High School has announced, with the blessing of Bishop Edward M. Rice and Dr. Gene Aug, that Mr. Tim Garner will serve as the new Interim Principal of Notre Dame Regional High School. A formal press release from the Office of the Bishop, is accompanying this letter.  

A legacy has been built by the School Sisters of Notre Dame, the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, and every faculty, staff, student, and parent. This Legacy continues.

We are excited to work with all of our Notre Dame families during the 2019-20 school year. We ask for your prayers as we move forward. God bless you and Notre Dame Regional High School.

It is with both sadness and understanding that the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau bids farewell to Brother David Anthony Migliorino, OSF, as he accepts another assignment from his religious order. Provincial Superior Brother Gabriel O'Brien, OSF, of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, NY, has appointed Brother David Principal of St. Anthony High School in South Huntington NY, effective immediately.

SEMOball Awards

The Semoball Awards presented by Southeast Health took place on Saturday and Notre Dame Regional High School's student athletes and coaches took home many awards. Congratulations to Paul Hale, Life Time Achievement Award Winner; Tommy Taylor, Boys Soccer Player of the Year; Blake Morris, Boys Cross Country Athlete of the Year; Riley Burger, Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year; Andrew West, Male Scholar Athlete Award; and Megan Heisserer, Girls Soccer Player of the Year, Female Scholar Athlete, Female Athlete of the Year.

Valedictorian

Class of 2019 Valedictorian, Yanlin (Linda) Hu, is the daughter of Qiang Hu and Jun You.  Kyle and Emily Schott of Cape Girardeau have hosted Linda.

While at ND, Linda was active in National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, Women in God’s Service (WINGS), Science Club, and Franciscan Leadership Club.  She competed as part of the Scholar Bowl Team and Tennis Team. Linda has received Academic Awards in Honors Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, French I and II, Advanced English II, Chemistry, and Online Technology.

Linda has earned the McGill Freshman Scholarship Award and plans to attend McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She plans to major in Science (Mathematics).

From Linda: “I want to thank my parents for giving me this opportunity and thank my two host families, friends, and teachers for helping me along the way.”
 
 
 
 

Salutatorian


Class of 2019 Salutatorian, James (Jamie) Barnes, is the son of Michael and Jennifer Barnes of Sikeston. James is a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
 
While at ND, James was active in National Honor Society, Franciscan Leadership Club, Peer Helpers, Athletes Give Back, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) where he served as Secretary. Jamie competed with the Freshman and JV Baseball Teams and JV and Varsity Volleyball Teams. Jamie has received Academic Awards in Algebra I, English I, Economics, and Biology.  He attended the American Legion Boys State.

Jamie has earned a Bright Flight Scholarship and will attend University of Missouri at Kansas City entering into the six-year medical school.

On Sunday, May 5, the Freshman Class and the Home and School Association hosted the annual Senior Banquet. Academic awards including Senior stoles were awarded. 

The Bulldog and Lady Bulldog awards went to D.J. Lynch and Megan Heisserer for "excelling in athletic achievement, character, leadership, practice ethics, teamwork and sportsmanship over the past four years at NDHS". Congratulations!
