INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY
THE INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY is an honor society that rewards excellence among students in theater arts. The group also serves as the leaders/officers of Backstage Blue.
Troupe Director is Miss Cynthia King
A point system prescribed by the sponsoring organization, The Educational Theatre Association, is used to achieve this honor. The awarding of points is determined by the Troupe Director. Students are responsible for recording their activities with the Troupe Director.

Thespians are required to attend all Backstage Blue meetings as well as meetings of Thespian members only. Backstage Blue meets once a month; Thespians also meet as needed for special project planning.
PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES:
Notre Dame Thespians are required to participate in all Notre Dame theater productions in some capacity; attend all meetings; and participate in all service projects (Trivia Night, Trick-or-Treat So Kids Can Eat food drive dedicated to the memory of Sister Lucille Zerh, Touring Show, Holiday Craft Fair, Technical support for Top Dawg, Benefit Concerts, and Pop Concert, etc.)
Thespians provide technical support for performances and events held in the cafetorium including concerts, plays, coronations, and meetings. We continue to provide runners for Notre Dame's Trivia Night that benefits PAVA and to assist with the Christmas Craft Fair. We participate in the Trick-or-Treat So Kids Can Eat National ITS food drive and host a food drive during Lent. We promote the appreciation of live theatre, sponsoring field trips to a variety of productions, and when practical, produce tours for our feeder schools. We also support ND alums and current students by attending their productions.
Thespians also host the Theater Awards Banquet in May.
